The Loneliness Lab exists to explore the many layers of loneliness with openness, humor, and compassion

Why We’re Here

Loneliness touches all of us…parents, leaders, partners, friends, and communities. By naming it and exploring it with curiosity, we begin to dissolve its shame, complexity, and confusion.
The Loneliness Lab
workshops help community members explore loneliness, create space for reflection, and experiment with practices that move us toward deeper belonging.

What We Do

At The Loneliness Lab, we don’t “fix” loneliness. Instead, we get curious about it together. Through lightly facilitated conversations, embodied practices, courses, and workshops, we create collaborative spaces where you can learn, share, listen, and practice new ways of connecting.

Join Us for Conversations on Loneliness Series

Join us for a series of free, live conversations on Zoom—hosted by Beth and Brett, founders of The Loneliness Lab. Each session is an interactive, thoughtful, and lighthearted discussion about loneliness: what it is, how it shows up in our lives, and how we can meet it with curiosity. Whether you’re brand new to The Loneliness Lab or simply curious about the topic, this is a welcoming way to get to know us, connect with others, and explore loneliness together.

The Myth of Loneliness

Loneliness often whispers: “It’s just you.” But that’s the myth. In this session, we’ll explore the roadblocks that keep us from connecting—shame, fear, busyness, technology—and experiment with ways to move past them. You might just find you’re less alone than you think.

The Loneliness Epidemic

The U.S. Surgeon General recently declared loneliness an epidemic—but epidemics are about all of us, not just individuals. This conversation is about naming loneliness as a common human experience, lifting the stigma, and making space for connection. You’ll leave knowing: you’re not broken, you’re human.

What's on Your Loneliness Playlist?

In this convo we will explore the power of songs about loneliness. Do they help? Do they make it worse? If you are joining the convo, bring some of your favorite songs about loneliness! "One is the loneliest number that you've ever sung...."

Loneliness and Attachment Styles

As mammals we attach to our primary care givers (other mammals) think: Punch the Macaque that captured our collective heart. In this convo we'll explore the connection between different attachment styles and loneliness.
